Fourth Grade

In the Safer, Smarter Kids Fourth Grade curriculum, lessons expand on previous grade levels including topics such as good citizenship, body boundaries, respecting yourself and others, digital safety, listening to your “Guiding Voice,” and telling a trusted adult when a situation makes you feel confused, uncomfortable, or unsafe.

Through a series of 5 engaging lessons, students join Lauren, her friend Rodney, and kids at the neighborhood rec center on a time traveling adventure as they explore the “Kids’ Bill of Rights” – the framework for all of the lessons in the fourth grade curriculum – which include the right to safety, to respect, to be yourself, to have and use your voice, and to have a childhood.

With each lesson, students will answer questions about a concept to determine background knowledge, watch a video, answer questions to determine learning gains, participate in whole group instruction with the teacher (detailed scripted lesson and visuals provided), and complete a variety of engaging activities to practice and apply the skills and concepts introduced. Caregiver Connection letters and activities provide detailed information for each lesson and allows safety learning to extend into the home.

Designed for use with face-to-face, blended, and digital learning.
